When commitment and passion become an integral part of hospital care, it’s the patients who ultimately benefit.
To acknowledge these efforts, Corona Regional Medical Center received the Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) 2025 Optimal Care Award for providing safe, high-quality health care to the patients it serves throughout facilities in Palmdale, Rancho Springs, Inland Valley, Temecula and, of course, Corona, California. This network of care also extends to non-hospital settings in Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Menifee Lakes and Riverside as well as strong ties to the communities of Norco and Eastvale.
Founded as a community hospital in 1965, many changes have taken place to meet the needs of the rapidly growing areas still served by the 259-bed hospital network.
Today, the teams at Corona Regional Medical Center provide emergency and acute care health services, cardiac care – including the use of two brand new, innovative cardiac catheter labs – as well a certified bariatric and robotic program, general surgery, behavioral health sciences and gynecological services with an award-winning birthing center.
And always, the primary priority centers around patient care, patient satisfaction, and driving quality, according to the hospital’s Director of Quality Dr. Bhumi Kothari.
“We are very grateful to IEHP for providing us with the platform and resources in our journey,” Kothari said. “With that, we can implement great programs such as a substance use navigator, who is a designated individual in the emergency department providing services and follow-up for patients with substance use and mental health disorders.”
The free “Meds to Beds” program also contributes to success, working with local pharmacies to deliver medication directly to a patient’s bedside before hospital discharge. This is also an opportunity to identify any challenges the patient may face with transportation issues.
“On behalf of Corona Regional Medical Center, we want to thank IEHP for recognizing the efforts and commitment that the hospital has made to improve our care and services for our patients,” said Chief Nursing Officer Phyllis Snyder. “It really connects back to our mission, which is to ‘connect quality of care with dignity and kindness.’”
