IEHP’s new community wellness center will host its grand opening Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2050 N. Massachusetts Ave. in San Bernardino. The event is free for everyone and celebrates IEHP’s 30th anniversary.
The new center will offer free daily classes for all ages, including group fitness, yoga and meditation. A teaching kitchen will host cooking demonstrations and nutrition workshops so families can learn to make simple, healthy meals at home. Staff will also help visitors connect to support for food, housing and job needs.
One resident, Gabby L., a mom who found the Victorville community wellness center while looking for a place for her children, shared how the center changed her family’s routine.
“I wanted something safe, where they could learn and grow,” she said. “I also wanted to be part of that learning process.”
Gabby began taking classes with her kids and soon met other parents who supported her.
“It helped me realize I’m not alone,” she said. “We’re like a family. And helping each other, even in small ways, has made a big difference in my kids’ development.”
She also noticed changes at home.
“They now know other people’s names and are learning to recognize and connect with others,” she said. “At home, my daughter and son used to leave messes, but now they clean up on their own. I’m so proud of that.”
Centers like these are possible because IEHP is a local Medi‑Cal plan. Being local keeps resources in the community, supporting programs that help families stay healthy and connected to care.
As IEHP celebrates 30 years in the Inland Empire, the opening of the San Bernardino center shows how long term, local investment can strengthen the health and wellbeing of the entire community.
