With the opioid epidemic reaching peak heights, Inland Empire Health Plan’s Covering Your Health podcast goes deep on the subject with support from Riverside University Health System (RUHS).

Kelly Smith, a trauma nurse coordinator with RUHS, talks about the crisis, how Narcan can save lives, and the signs to look for if someone you know is suffering from a fentanyl overdose. Smith also shares other life-saving methods in case of emergency, such as her “Stop The Bleed” certification course, which has taught more than 5,000 people how to stop life-threatening bleeding.
