American Health Law Association’s “Speaking of Health Law” podcast invited Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) Chief Executive Officer Jarrod McNaughton to speak on the future of managed care in its latest episode.
McNaughton and co-guest Kinda Serafi from Manatt Health shared the realities of the healthcare space following the July 2025 passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which includes new work and eligibility requirements for Medicaid members.
“The folks that have never been through the eligibility or redetermination process [will find] that it is similar to filing your taxes,” said McNaughton. “That’s the kind of rigor that’s placed on this — this is not some easy one-page thing you can sign off and be done. Our biggest concern is actually the stress on the counties… to process this work.”
