Team IEHP joined thousands at ONT Field on Oct. 18 to create some “buzz” around breast cancer research at the 2026 MORE THAN PINK Walk.
The annual event, hosted by Susan G. Komen, moved from the city of Murrieta to the home of the Ontario Tower Buzzers minor league baseball team to raise funds in support of cancer research and education.
“Everyone has been affected by cancer one way or another,” said IEHP Chief Operating Officer Susie White. “I walk in memory of my mom Jo, and I know she is proud of the work we’ve done to amplify the meaning behind the walk.”
IEHP first sponsored the walk in 2019, and team members have since raised more than $130,000 in fundraising support. Each year, hundreds of IEHP team members decked in pink walk together carrying signs of support and share the stories of survivors and those we’ve lost to breast cancer.
“Participating in the walk creates a strong community of support,” said White. “Sharing my mom’s story and the stories of those impacted by cancer keeps their memory and spirit alive.”
The annual MORE THAN PINK Walk is Susan G. Komen’s largest fundraising event series, bringing in millions toward its mission to create a world without breast cancer.
The nonprofit estimates:
- Approximately 32,000 people in the U.S. are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
- Nearly 43,000 people in the U.S. will lose their battle with the disease in 2026.
- The breast cancer mortality rate is about 40% higher in Black women than white women in the country.
