Celebrating IEHP’s 30th anniversary

For three decades, Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) has proudly served the people of Riverside and San Bernardino counties. What began in 1996 with 60,000 members has become a vibrant community of 1.4 million people who trust us with their health. Today, we're a top-five national Medicaid managed care plan and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) accredited.

Throughout our growth, one thing has stayed the same: our commitment to improving access, advancing quality and supporting the overall well‑being of the region we call home. Whether expanding services, opening Community Wellness Centers (CWCs) or partnering with local leaders, every milestone reflects the lives we’ve touched and the communities we’re honored to serve.

As we celebrate 30 years, our mission to heal and inspire the human spirit remains strong as ever.

The IEHP difference

What makes IEHP different? We’re the health plan with a heart.

  • We’re here to serve, not to sell: Unlike commercial health plans that prioritize profits, we put our resources into member care, provider support and community investment.
  • Award-winning customer service: IEHP has earned J.D. Power certification in outstanding customer experience for phone support.*
  • Large network of providers: With over 8,000 providers throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties, our members get timely, high-quality care.
  • The gold standard in provider satisfaction: IEHP has achieved a 100th percentile national ranking in overall satisfaction on Press Ganey’s Provider Experience Survey.
  • Dedicated care teams: When our members need extra care, we provide them with a personal care team to coordinate their medical visits, address their health needs and regularly check in on their progress.
  • Improved health outcomes: We’ve expanded services such as mobile well-child clinics, home visits for members with diabetes and the Healthy School Program. This has boosted preventive care and early interventions across the IE.
  • Community partnerships: By partnering with community-based organizations, we connect our members with resources beyond healthcare to support their whole-person health. This includes food distributions, housing support, substance use support and more.
  • Local team: Based in Rancho Cucamonga, our 3,600+ team members are part of the community we serve. Every day, we’re working to improve access to care for our growing region. This includes hosting health fairs, adding providers to underserved areas and meeting members where they’re at.
  • Community-based governing board: Representatives from both San Bernardino and Riverside counties comprise our governing board to ensure that we meet our communities’ needs.
  • Free access to all CWCs: Our CWCs in Riverside, Victorville and San Bernardino (coming soon) offer free fitness classes, workshops and health resources for all residents.
