Medi-Cal Long Term Services and Supports

For those who need help taking care of themselves, Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS) can be a huge help. By providing medical and personal care services, LTSS helps eligible members live independently in their community.

 

Keep reading to learn about the LTSS programs you or a loved one may qualify for.

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)

If you have a disability, are blind, or over 65 years old and not able to live in your home without help, you may qualify. Get help around the house and other daily care needs. With IHSS, you find your own caregivers to help with:

  • Cooking meals and cleaning up
  • Personal care services (such as bowel and bladder care, bathing, and grooming)
  • Laundry and household cleaning, grocery shopping and errands, rides to doctors visits

San Bernardino County In-Home Supportive Services

Riverside County In-Home Supportive Services 

1-888-960-4477 (TTY 711), 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Multipurpose Senior Services Program (MSSP)

MSSP is a case management program that provides Home and Community-Based Services to Medi-Cal eligible individuals.

 

To be eligible, you must be:

  • 65 years of age or older
  • Living within a site’s service area
  • Able to be served with MSSP’s cost limits
  • Eligible for Medi-Cal
  • Certified or certifiable for placement in a nursing facility

 

Services include:

  • Adult day care/support center
  • Housing help
  • Chore and personal care help
  • Protective supervision
  • Care management
  • Respite
  • Transportation
  • Meal services
  • Social services

San Bernardino County Multipurpose Senior Services Program

Riverside County Multipurpose Senior Services Program
Call 951-867-3800, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Community Based Adult Services (CBAS)

CBAS is an outpatient, facility-based service program where people go to based on a schedule. It offers:

  • Skilled nursing care
  • Social services
  • Therapies (such as occupational, physical and speech)
  • Personal care
  • Family/caregiver training and support
  • Nutrition services
  • Rides
  • And other services

Nursing Facility (NF)

An NF is a place that provides care for people who can’t get care at home but don’t need to be in a hospital.

At NFs, patients can get these services:

  • Nursing care
  • Care management
  • Bed and board (daily meals)
  • X-ray and lab
  • Physical, speech and occupational therapy
  • Medications dispensed as part of your care plan
