Stay Healthy with Needed Vaccines

Black man after getting vaccine

Vaccines are a safe and easy way to stay healthy and help prevent disease.

That’s why IEHP members can get all needed vaccines at no cost.

How do vaccines work?

Vaccines train the body to fight germs that cause disease. They can help:

  • Protect us from getting those diseases.
  • Keep us from getting very sick.
  • Shorten hospital stays, if we do get sick.
  • Reduce the risk of death.

Stay up to date on needed vaccines:

  • Call your doctor today for a wellness visit.
  • Members 19 years old and older can also get recommended vaccines at select network pharmacies and community centers.
  • Check your Member Handbook to learn more or check out our recommended vaccine schedules for adults and children.

Vaccine side effects:

Like some medicines, vaccines may cause minor side effects such as:

  • Soreness at site of injection
  • Feeling tired and weak
  • Fever (usually within 12 hours of vaccination and lasts one to two days)
  • Rash

If you have any concerns about side effects, have a chat with your doctor.
