Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) Chief Executive Officer Jarrod McNaughton was selected as a Man of the Year honoree by California State Sen. Eloise Gómez Reyes at the Senator’s first Summer Celebration of Service on July 14.

Held at Ayala Park Community Center in the city of Bloomington, the event recognized and celebrated outstanding individuals and organizations working to make a difference in Reyes’ District 29.

Honorees in five categories — Man of the Year, Veteran of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Nonprofit of the Year and Woman of the Year — were nominated by members of the community and selected based on their contributions to the communities they serve, according to the senator’s news release.

“I am deeply honored to receive this award,” said McNaughton. “Of course, this recognition would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our IEHP team members. I couldn’t do what I do without their support and our shared commitment to deliver quality and equitable care to those we serve. I thank Senator Reyes for this honor and for being a trusted advocate and partner.”

California Senate District 29 serves a portion of San Bernardino County that includes the cities and communities of San Bernardino, Redlands, Muscoy, and Bloomington. Reyes was elected to represent the area in Nov. 2024, having previously served in the State Assembly from 2016 until 2024.

“Every act of service — whether it’s mentoring a young person, supporting a neighbor, serving our country, or giving back in countless other ways — helps create a brighter future for everyone,” said Reyes in the release. “This week, we celebrated people who remind us that making a difference doesn’t always require a grand gesture—just a willingness to serve others.”

McNaughton joined IEHP as the health plan’s chief operating officer in 2018 before assuming the role as CEO in 2019. In his role, McNaughton works closely with the IEHP Governing Board to shape the organization's strategic vision and provides executive leadership that advances its mission, vision and values.

In the past year, McNaughton served as the featured speaker at the Inland Empire Economic Partnership C-Suite Forum and was a recent guest on the American Law Association’s (AHLA) “Speaking of Law” podcast, where he discussed the impact of new Medicaid program requirements on managed care plans and members.
